We loved all of the emails thank you for writing. It is fun to log on
and see messages. Sandy I am so happy for you congratulations!!! That is wonderful I cannot wait to see a picture. Fern you too! I heard about
your referral and a Hunan baby too!! Sandy and Jane thank you so much
for the puppy updates they are great, please keep them coming we enjoy
them immensely. Jessie thank you for the long emails I just read them
out loud to everyone.
Okay on to my beautiful incredible baby who is sitting here on her
Grandmother's lap playing with the wiggle worm. ..... Our journey
started off at 6:30 am in Beijing I woke up crying I was tired and
a little anxious and we packed up our 50 million bags and went to
breakfast. A calmness descended over me and I was fine from then on. We
went to the airport and boarded a 11:15am plane for Changsha we left the
terminal ad the plane started to taxi to the runway and then we ended up
back at the gate. This was the most bizarre plane ride I have ever had.
We stayed n the plane and they served drinks and then they said we would
be delayed more and opened the plane door and people got up and hung out
at the door. They then served us lunch - Daddy said ala fresco. We then
left over an hour later and the babies were to be at the hotel
at 3pm. ShaSha called to tell them we were running late. Ten on the
plane ride they played a travel game and the last question was in
english and mommy knew the answer and hit the bell and won the prize!!!
Everyone clapped. So we arrive at the airport and I am still calm only
went to the bathroom once on the plane. and we loaded up the car with
the 50 million bags - we had to pay $150. for our overweight luggage and
were freaking out until we realized that it was $30. a person which was
normal. We had the huge medicine bag too. So we have all this luggage
in the truck blocking the aisle and we pull up to the hotel and there
are the babies sitting in the lobby. I noticed Zoey immediately she was
in green. We could not get out of the truck b/c of the luggage and Bernadette climbed over and then we pulled out the suitcases and ran
into
the lobby. I said hello to Zoey I did not touch her and then ShaSha says
we have to check into the hotel first and the nannies will take the
babies up to the 30th floor playroom. I said no way, I want my baby and
I do not care about checking in we will check in later. The nannies went
to the 30th floor and Sha Sha just explained to the hotel and we went up
in the next elevator to get our babies. The nanny handed me Zoey and she
went right to me never cried Camera Joe who has been awesome with the
video and the cameraing is amazing. Jojo videoed and Justine snapped
pictures and we passed Zoey around to my mom and dad and Joe and Justine and she was fine. I never missed a beat she was mine and that was that I
was waiting and still waiting to feel overwhelmed or nervous but she is
the most delightful child that I feel totally at peace. She is the best
baby and the cutest baby. We stayed in the playroom to ask the nannies
questions and then we went back to my room and Zoey is just perfect. She
is healthy , she has excema on her head and cheeks and a bad diaper
rash,
but all that aside she is delicious. She is smart, alert she sits
she crawls she stands she walks if you hold her hands her eyes follow
you everywhere she is so curious. she has these huge eyes that sparkle
and she loves to be stimulated. she is busy all the time. All her
clothes fit her she is 12 months size. After this email we are going to
give her first bath b/c her belly button is dirty and I waited a day
and she has adjusted so well that she is fine. She is just great! She is
the EMPRESS. She slept with me last night. They hotel is out of cribs so
many babies. I think she is saying "where have you guys been what took
you so long" She is delightful. I am so in love with her as is the rest
of the family!
11/1 - I adopted her today she is legally mine in Chinese the eyes and
she was the best baby during all the paperwork. no crying playing
singing. so happy and sweet. She is
clever and when daddy holds her she goes to sleep. She likes noodle and
rice. She seems
to have a raspy voice.
We would like to leave China now!!!! We cannot believe we have to stay
13 more days. The hotel is plush. but still....
