Hi all. Sorry for the delay in the stories, but I went away overnight
and am just getting to them now. below is an email that Lisa sent to me
but I thought everyone would enjoy it too. It says a lot about what Zoey
is up to. Isn't my niece the best???
Hello,
I missed a day of writing Sorry. Jess thank you for sending me the
responses I love to read them they are great and you can tell everyone
they warm my heart thank you.
Jess to answer your questions she hated her first bath she does not like
to have her feet touch the ground she cries and I had my feet in the tub
too but that would not do. So we washed her fast. She has the cutest
body and little tushy. I think she feels secure in Daddy's arms and he
hold her tightly. She did fine shopping yesterday at the Friendship Store so she is in like flynn!!!! We have not gone
swimming yet. She has
a horrible what we thought was diaper rash but had Lucy look at it today
turns out to be a yeast infection. She is extremely raw. Lucy who is a
doctor in our group, her daughter is Eleanor) gave me some medication for
that hopefully It will clear it up because the Zinc and the antibiotic
ointment were not working b/c it was not diaper rash. I feel much better about that. I kept her on her
Chinese formula for 3 days and I have now
started adding in my formula and rice cereal. it is much more liquidly
but she is drinking it. She hates apple juice. I wanted to give her more
liquids an put a little apple juice in a bottle with water and she did
not like it at all. She will drink water from the sippy cup and not the
bottle and she had no idea how to eat from a spoon but is catching on
quickly she is so smart. She knows where the sound maker is for the toys
after you press it once and presses it over and over again. I had to
make that toy disappear fro awhile. I give her congee at breakfast she
likes it is like mush pretty bland Blah!! They put a little crib in
my room yesterday but she cries if you put her in it so she sleeps with
me. Funny but I don't worry about squishing her. She wakes up now and
then to check that I am still there. I cut her nails while she is
sleeping and put some cortisone on her head so she will not rub it off. She sleeps through the night until about 7am.
I cannot believe that Harry is doing so well. I still think he is going
to bite me big time when I get home!!
11/2 - we went to a tomb of this woman who was found and was over 2000
years old. I personally thought the whole thing was creepy they had her
organs in jars etc. The units and Justine thought it was fascinating. We
then went to the department store Friendship Store. I was overwhelmed and
a little disappointed b/c it was American stuff and I wanted Chinese
stuff. I managed to find a few things for Zoey.
Zoey blossoms every day a little more. She is smiling and babbling a
little more each day. She says dadada and bababa and it just too
precious. She steels a little more of my heart each day.
Mom just showed up with Zoey and we are going to the Friendship store.
So I will finish today's update later.
