2000 . . . |
| Hello all, This is the month that the count down should have ended, that I should have received my referral. It has been six months since I sent my dossier to CCAA in China. Unfortunately, due to delays, I will not be receiving my referral this month. I cannot believe I started this process a year ago this month. I have no reason as to why there are delays. October people are receiving their referrals now so maybe November people will get theirs at the end of the month and December in July (I am December). But who can say....... I have hired a trainer to help me with Harry and he has gone into deep training. He was getting completely out of control. Of course it is my own fault that he has no respect for me at all, so now we have to re establish the boundaries. Yeah, yeah....poor Harry.... poor me...(but I guess I put us in this situation) Let me tell you this is not an easy thing to do now that he is 2 ½ He has a talent for being extremely stubborn yet at the same time being so cute. But the trainer said that these really tough restrictions will only have to last about 2 weeks( he is not allowed on the furniture, bed, has to eat at sked time, learn, sit, down, stay, etc). It has been about ½ a week and Harry is wondering what the hell happened to his cushy life and he has decided to resist and fight me every step of the way. What keeps me focused is that I know this is for the best and he will be a happier, well behaved, well adjusted dog in the end. Harry and Zoey will be able to live in complete harmony together. I want to say a special thank you to Leslie for having those missing updates which can now be read on Zoey's website. I have also been working on Zoey's memory book. I am trying to design and put together a book for her that tells the story of how we became a family, pre Zoey, then the trip to China. I am told that the little girls just love to look through their books and hear their story told to them again and again. Being a child of the 21st century she now has her own website to tell the story too! I also joined a quilting club..... Let me explain, it is not something I would have normally joined but I just loved the sentiment of this one. I belong to an email group called APC (Adopting Parents of China with some 4000 members) someone came up with the idea of a quilt. You add your name to the list and when someone sends you a square you send them one back until you have about 100 squares, then you take your name off the list, or you can keep going. I have received two squares so far with these wonderful notes included. I ordered my material on line (someone recommended a site) I ordered a yard of little pink piggies and a yard of little Chinese girls and a yard of Pandas. That should cover it I hope. I also ordered a book on quilting because I have no clue what to do with these squares once I have collected them all. I have always wanted to sew, so what better project. If anyone is a quilter out there I would love to receive a square from you too, plus your help. Soooo it is just waiting, waiting, waiting and then some more waiting....and finding ways to make the waiting tolerable. Overall I do not mind waiting ,I am disappointed because I had planned on June but I have been incredibly busy, with all these projects and totally enjoying myself and my new apartment. Not to say that I do not get anxious, I have never had so much energy and I don't sleep much anymore. I believe I am totally working on pure adrenaline, I am unable to sit still and I feel this tremendous desire to clean, yes clean, can you believe. Hope to see all of you at the shower. I am really looking forward to it. Lisa Return to Monthly Update Page |
